BIBD ALAF students celebrate Maulidur Rasul with launching of ‘Sayyidul Istighfar’ video

November 23rd, 2018 – BIBD today held a gathering in observance of Maulidur Rasul with the collaboration of the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The event was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti Bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, who also launched a ‘Sayyidul Istighfar’ video recorded by students under the BIBD ALAF programme. Also present was Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Yang Mulia Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Yang Mulia Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, along with BIBD officers and staff along with senior officials and staff from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The video was also handed over by the guest of honour to Yang Mulia Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Director of the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Yang Mulia Haji Muhammad Suffian bin Haji Bungsu, Director of Radio Television Brunei, to be broadcasted nationwide.

The event also included a talk by personnel from the Islamic Da’wah Centre on the historic tales and deeds of our Prophet Muhammad (SAW), followed by a performance of ‘Sayyidul Istighfar’ by students from the BIBD ALAF programme. The event ended with recitations of Selawat upon the Prophet to close the ceremony.

Commenting on the event, Yang Mulia Haji Mohammad Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah, BIBD Head of Government Relations and Special Projects, said “In shaa Allah, through the tremendous and heart-warming dedication of our BIBD ALAF students in the recording of this video, BIBD hopes to further the people’s understanding of the Prophet’s teachings and foster deep admiration and love for our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as Brunei progresses towards becoming the ‘Zikir Nation’ envisioned by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.”
