API Development Officer, PMO and Delivery Department

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities:​

  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that enable seamless communication and data exchange between different software applications, systems, and platforms. ​
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and quality assurance teams, to design, implement, and test APIs that meet the requirements of our organization and its clients. ​
  • Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues, monitor performance, and continuously improve API functionality and usability​
  • Documenting of new and amended software components from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed development and security standards and processes. ​

Requirements & Experience

  • Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam.​
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Studies, Information Technology or any other relevant field; OR​
  • Higher National Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Studies, Information Technology or any other relevant field with a minimum of 3 years working experience.​
  • Having an ITIL Certification is an advantage.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Multiple coding or Programming Languages or Java or Python or JavaScript or Node.​
  • Good understanding in API documentation tools or Swagger or OpenAPI.​
  • Knowledge in cross-platform development, front-end development and application integration.​
  • Multiple coding languages. Operators can develop programs within technology like the cloud by using.​
  • Sound understanding in Programming Languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript and Node.​
  • Proven experience in API development ,API design and API orchestration, including designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs.​
  • Familiarity with Web technologies, including HTTP, JSON, XML and web services and API security best practices, such as authentication, authorization, and Encryption.​
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues, including debugging, error handling, and performance optimization.​
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.​
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.​
  • Ability to work in an agile development environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.​
