Position Summary
The Assistant Manager of Fixed Income and Structured Investments (“FISI”) is responsible for assisting the Head of FISI in managing the bank’s entire Investments portfolio, and responsible for analysing potential investments including but not limited to sukuk trading, suitable structured products, funds and notes. The role will also require the individual to prepare economic research in relation to developments of local and international global financial markets.
Requirements & Experience
- Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related quantitative field.
- Preferably with coursework in financial markets, corporate finance, valuations, and macroeconomics.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, graduate programs, or entry‑level roles in banking, treasury, capital markets, or related areas).
- Experience in financial analysis, data handling, reporting, or risk‑related work is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of asset management and treasury products.
- Basic understanding of the Treasury & Global Markets division and its role within the bank.
- Possess fundamental analysis skillset including knowledge of the macro-economic environment, credit fundamentals and market risk indicators.
- Strong analytical skills are required to prepare proposal papers and monitoring of credits.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are required to manage internal stakeholders and international global counterparts.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Good written and presentation skills are required for this role.
