Position Summary
The Relationship Officer is responsible for assisting the Head of Financial Institutions (“FI”) (Asia & Australia) in managing the bank’s relationships with FI counterparties and correspondent banks, including non-bank financial institutions while driving revenue growth through trade finance and cross-border financial solutions.
Requirements & Experience
- Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related quantitative field.
- Preferably with coursework in financial markets, corporate finance, valuations, and macroeconomics.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, graduate programs, or entry‑level roles in banking, treasury, capital markets, or related areas).
- Experience in financial analysis, data handling, reporting, or risk‑related work is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of treasury including financial institutions and trade finance products and the Bank’s financial institution relationships.
- Basic understanding of the Treasury & Global Markets division and its role within the bank.
- Possess fundamental analysis skillset including knowledge of the macro-economic environment, credit fundamentals and market risk indicators.
- Strong analytical skills are required to prepare proposal papers and monitoring of credits.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are required to manage internal stakeholders and international global counterparts.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Good written and presentation skills are required for this role.
