Senior Finance Officer - Financial Processing, Finance and Strategy Group (FSG)

Position Summary

Responsible to manage the Nostro Reconciliation Unit to ensure tasks, reports, unreconciled outstanding and information requested are timely completed and is accurate.

Requirements & Experience

  • Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam.
  • Degree Holder in Accounting, Management, Finance or any relevant field. ACCA, CPA or any other equivalent recognized Accounting professional qualification is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in related field.
  • Has adequate knowledge of International Accounting Standards. Candidates with banking experience in a finance or audit role will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible to monitor, identify, highlight and clear exceptional balances relating to Other Assets (Deposit and prepayment) and Nostro Reconciliation transactions (local and foreign).
  • Review records for accuracy, timely reconciliation, billing, receipts, and review of outstanding balances for transactions relating to Other Asset, Nostro and Treasury related matters.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation, monitoring and reviewing of Other Assets, Nostro and Treasury related transactions.
  • Review the monthly reconciliation for the Treasury Portfolio (Money market placement and deposits, Sukuk, Alternative and Other Investments, Interbank borrowings, etc).
  • Responsible to investigate unreconciled or outstanding items and prepare analysis and reports to Management.
  • Manage the team (i.e., to train and develop skills and knowledge) to enable effective financial processes such journals, daily and monthly reconciliation and other processes.
  • Assist in preparation of Financial Statements, information and reports upon request and approved by Management. In addition, liaising with the auditors, and to prepare and complete audit requests.
  • Provide support in coordinating and ensure timely completion of any User Access Testing (UAT) or pilot project testing.
  • Any other ad hoc responsibilities assigned by Chief Financial Officer.
