Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) recently handed over postcards to Network Integrity Assurance Technologies (NiAT) to support their initiative in meeting
the goal of delivering 4000 postcards to space. The postcards were handed over on 12th January 2023 by BIBD Managing Director and CEO, Tuan Junaidi bin Haji Masri to Puan Siti Nur Aazzah binti Pehin Dato Haji Abdul Aziz at the BIBD Headquarters in the capital.
More than 60 postcards containing creative messages, pictures and artistic expressions were collected from the bank’s employees and their family members as well as friends which will make up the whole collection of postcards from Brunei to be sent to space via the Blue Origin’s New Shepard Rocket. The postcards will be stamped ‘Flown to Space’ and delivered back to the address stated on the postcards.
The initiative was also held in line with BIBD’s support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals No.4, which is Quality Education, to raise awareness about space research and Brunei’s efforts under NiAT such as the goal of building Brunei’s very own satellite.
