BIBD demonstrates commitment to promoting inclusive and quality education
- Community, Sustainability
In a move that underscores its unwavering commitment to supporting quality education and empowering all members of the community, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), has recently made several contributions towards the construction of several facilities at the newly-launched Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam School.
The Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam School and the Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Surau, located in Kampong Bengkurong, was launched by His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen last Thursday.
BIBD played a key role in supporting Pusat Ehsan by contributing to the construction of a classroom, designed to provide a well-equipped learning environment and quality education for
the students.
Recognising the importance of play for well-being and development, BIBD has also provided an additional B$10,000 towards the construction of a playground at the Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al Hajjah Maryam School.
This inclusive space will allow students to engage in physical activity and social interaction in a safe and stimulating environment.
This expansion will significantly improve the school’s capacity to cater to the diverse needs of its students, fostering both academic development and recreational activities.
Present to hand over a mock cheque of the donation for the playground to His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs as Chairman of the BIBD Board of Directors.
Meanwhile Yang Mulia Tuan Junaidi bin Haji Masri, BIBD’s Managing Director and CEO represented the bank in receiving a token of appreciation from His Royal Highness.
BIBD is deeply committed to supporting quality education and empowering all members of our community, including ensuring inclusive education for students with special needs. This
commitment is reflected in this project.
By providing new classrooms, a library, and a playground, we are helping to create an environment that fosters the development of all students, regardless of their abilities.
This initiative also aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
BIBD believes that education is the cornerstone of a thriving and equitable society and by supporting the construction of facilities such as the Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam School, the
bank is also contributing to Brunei Darussalam’s progress in achieving the SDGs.
At its core, this project champions inclusive education for all segments of society, aligning with Brunei Vision 2035’s goals of building a knowledgeable and skilled nation.
