BIBD Discontinues Passbooks: Embracing Sustainability and Digital Innovation
- Banking, Digital, Sustainability
As part of Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam’s (BIBD) ongoing commitment to sustainability and digital transformation, the Bank has officially discontinued passbook services as of 1 June 2024.
This move aligns with our goal to offer more efficient, secure, and convenient banking solutions to our valued customers.
As an alternative, customers can access their transactions through e-statements, available on the BIBD NEXGEN platform. This platform provides a secure and instant way to access statements.
Customers who require printed statements may do so by visiting their nearest BIBD branch, where a Statement Retrieval Fee will apply. Details of the fees can be found in the Schedule of Tariffs available on BIBD’s website.
However, the Statement Retrieval Fee will be waived until 31 May 2025 for senior citizens (aged 60 and above) and customers with special needs.
This initiative is a key component of BIBD’s “Go Digital” strategy, aimed at enhancing the banking experience through technology while contributing to a more sustainable future.
BIBD remains committed to providing more efficient and user-friendly banking services, and we thank our customers for their understanding, trust, and ongoing support.
