BIBD Donates Proceeds of “Cookies for Palestine” Campaign

Students from BIBD’s ALAF program have successfully concluded their heartwarming “Cookies for Palestine” campaign, a testament to their commitment to global humanitarian efforts and the principles of Maqasid Shariah.

The campaign, which ran from 27 November to 3 December 2023, involved a total of 80 students who took on the challenge of baking, packing, and selling cookies to raise funds for Palestine. Out of these, 60 students handled the baking and packing process, while the remaining 20 students engaged in selling the cookies at Bandar Ku Ceria.

This remarkable team effort led to the production of 1,386 cookies, packaged into 462 packets containing three cookies each. Demonstrating the community’s spirit of generosity and support, all the cookies were sold out, resulting in a total collection of $2,310.01.

The success of this campaign not only highlights the students’ culinary skills and organisational abilities but also underscores their deep commitment to addressing global issues. It reflects the values ingrained in them through the BIBD ALAF program – a willingness to take meaningful action for a better world.

In a gesture of solidarity and support, four representatives from BIBD ALAF handed over the proceeds to Dayang Fauziah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, the Acting Director of Community Development at the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports. This gesture signifies not only the success of the campaign but also the wider commitment of BIBD in upholding the Maqasid Shariah principles, promoting community development, and fostering a sense of global citizenship among its students.

BIBD is proud of the hard work and dedication of all the students involved and extends our heartfelt gratitude to the community for their overwhelming support. This campaign stands as a shining example of how collective efforts can make a significant impact in the world.
