Since its inception in 2013, the BIBD ALAF program has been instrumental in providing financial aid, educational support, and guidance to students from targeted segments in Brunei. The initiative emphasises the holistic development of students, encompassing academic and extracurricular activities that foster industry-readiness and strong values aligned with Melayu Islam Beraja. Notably, in 2023, the program celebrated its first university graduate, Dayang Hajah Nurhafikah binti Haji Awang Bakri, a milestone that underscores the program’s effectiveness and impact.

The BIBD ALAF initiative is reflective of BIBD’s commitment to supporting lifelong education, in line with Maqasid Al Shariah principles and the goals of Brunei Vision 2035. The bank remains dedicated to fostering opportunities for children from targeted segments, aiming to make a lasting impact on the community and the nation at large.
