BIBD Organises Panel Discussion To Raise Awareness On Cardiovascular Health In Conjunction With World Heart Day

In conjunction with World Heart Day, BIBD, in collaboration with Gleneagles JPMC, hosted a special talk aimed at raising awareness on cardiovascular health, with a focus on educating the community about the causes of heart disease linked to modern lifestyles and dietary habits. The session featured leading medical professionals from Gleneagles JPMC, including Pg Dr. Nadzir bin Pg Mohd Juanda, Deputy Director of Cardiac Surgery and Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, alongside Senior Dietitian Nor Arfah Md Taib.

This initiative reflects BIBD’s ongoing commitment to supporting the nation’s health goals, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being. Cardiovascular diseases, particularly heart conditions, remain one of the most serious health concerns in Brunei, and the talk sought to highlight the importance of early detection, preventative measures, and the adoption of healthier lifestyles.

BIBD recognises the need for greater education and awareness on the underlying causes of heart disease, including the impact of modern diets, sedentary lifestyles, and stress. The session provided practical advice on how customers and their loved ones can make informed choices to improve their heart health, including adopting heart-friendly diets and incorporating regular exercise into their daily routines.

Through this educational session, BIBD hopes to equip the community with the knowledge needed to take proactive steps in protecting their cardiovascular health. As part of its commitment to promoting national well-being, BIBD continues to work with healthcare partners to address pressing health issues and support Brunei’s Vision 2035.
