- Bruneian at Heart, Community, Outreach, Partner in Progress
Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) continued its commitment towards supporting government initiatives by becoming the main sponsor for the main seminar of the Majlis Ilmu, book publication of the ‘Amalan Penjagaan Kesejahteraan Minda dan Emosi (Buku Pandua Doa dan Zikir)’ to align the theme of Mental Health, prizes for the Majlis Ilmu 2024 public quizzes; all in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam 78th Birthday celebrations.
The prize handover event took place at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah last week as part of an appreciation event which was also hosted by BIBD and Balai Khazanah Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
The event commenced with a speech of appreciation from Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu, Deputy Minister of Security and Law at the Prime Minister’s Office, who serves as the Co-Chairman of the Majlis Ilmu 2024 Seminar Committee.
The event included the presentation of prizes to the winners of the Majlis Ilmu 2024 Quiz, which took place during the Seminar and Forum events across districts. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence, officiated the prize-giving as the guest of honour. He also presented certificates of appreciation to the sponsors of Majlis Ilmu 2024.
BIBD’s sponsorship, which included flight tickets and electronic items, is part of its broader commitment to supporting community initiatives that address significant social issues, such as mental health, which was the focus of this year’s Majlis Ilmu theme, “Addressing Mental Health Challenges.” By backing these efforts, BIBD reinforces its dedication to partnering with the government to foster social progress and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the areas of health, education, and community partnerships.
This collaboration not only reflects BIBD’s commitment to sustainable development but also highlights the crucial role of active engagement from various sectors to achieve impactful outcomes for the people of Brunei Darussalam.
